Light-induced oxidation of secondary alcohols (benzhydrol, acenaphthenol, 1-phenylethanol and 1-(4-phenyl)- phenylethanol) at room temperature in the presence of benzoyl peroxide and N-bromosuccinimide in dichloromethane afforded ketones and other by-products.
