Large scale regional citizen surveys report (D1.4)

Description

This document presents the results from a large-scale survey that took place in early 2020 under the H2020 RRI2SCALE project (Responsible Research and Innovation Ecosystems at Regional Scale for Intelligent Cities, Transport and Energy, GA. 872526). The aim of the survey was to engage citizens from four selected European regions (Overijssel, Vestland, Kriti, Galicia) in defining and
discussing their views, concerns, and moral issues about the current and future trajectories of their RTD&I ecosystem.
Approximately 2.000 citizens per region were interviewed, and the outcomes from the analysis resulted in the identification of challenges in each region associated with: (i) citizens and societal engagement in designing open and inclusive territorial R&I ecosystems; (ii) the factors associated with openness and inclusiveness in Regional Dilemma; and (iii) what are the (unstructured) weak societal signals that need to be taken into consideration during the design of future R&I agendas.

Notes

The RRI2SCALE project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 872526.
