Synthesis of some New Heterocyclic Systems bearing 2-Phenyl-6-iodo-4(3H)-quinazolinon-3-yl Moiety as Antibacterial Agents

A number of heterobicyclic systems bearing 2-phenyl-6-iodo-4(3H)-quinazolinon-3-yl moiety have been synthesised by interaction of 3- amino-2-phenyl-6-iodo-4(3H)-quinazolinone with bifunctional compounds followed by cyclisation in different media. Some of the compounds possess high activity aganist bacteria.
