Participação e controle social: perspectivas e limites no Conselho Nacional de Assistência Social

In this work, we analyze the Conselho Nacional de Assistência Social (CNAS) as a space for social control over social assistance policy. Its constitution and form of representation are regulated in the OLei Orgânica da Assistência Social - Nº 8.742/1993 as a permanent body with equal composition between government and civil society, linked to the structure of the Ministério do Desenvolvimento Social e Combate à Fome.
