The complexes of bivalent Pd and Pt with 6-aryl-3-cyano-4-tritluoromethylpyridine-2(1H)-thione have been synthesized. IR and NM R investigations show that the thioncs are bonded to the metal ion through the sulfur atom. The thioncs and their complexes possess antimicrobial activities.
