A comparative study of photocatalytic bleaching of azure-B over Sb2S3 powder was carried out in the presence and absence of sodium bicarbonate/carbonate. The photocatalytic bleaching was observed to be more efficient in the presence of bicarbonate/carbonate ions. The effect of various parameters has been studied and a tentative mechanism for the photocatalytic bleaching has been proposed.
