DÉTERMINATION. — Morphologique.Moléculaire (BOLD:ADM1044).

LOCALITÉ TYPE. — Suriname (Dyar 1913).

RÉPARTITION GÉOGRAPHIQUE. — Guyano-amazonienne (Lemaire 2002).

REMARQUES TAXONOMIQUES. — Hylesia murex représente un complexe d’espèces en cours d’étude dans BOLD, incluant Hylesia humilis Dognin, 1923. Hylesia humilis, taxon de statut incertain, a été signalé de Guyane sur guianensis.fr.

DISTRIBUTION EN GUYANE. — Connu des trois zones biogéographiques.

HABITAT EN GUYANE. — Forêts primaire et secondaire, savane.
