STRANGER THINGS: O USO DE DADOS NA CONSTRUÇÃO DE UMA REALIDADE PARTICULAR

  • 1. UAM

Description

The human being does not like discomfort, annoyance, frustration and, consequently, the resulting pain. Throughout his history, they sought to minimize the chances of encountering these feelings. Machine Learning algorithms dig up the tons of data that we make available online on daily bases in search of our unconscious desires in order to be able to transform them into images, texts, videos, stories irresistibly consumable. Tv series like Stranger Things are built with data collection algorithms, which retrieve our desires and return products made to our image and likeness. This paper aims to consider the discomfort and the annoyance like necessary feelings to the humanity. Is the human being capable of dealing with his own image indefinitely? Or will this sea of monotonous sameness be enough to put the human being again in the course of the uncertainty and the difference?
