EL OBJETO COMO INTERFAZ EN UNA INSTALACIÓN PERFORMÁTICA INTERACTIVA

This paper explores the place of the object through the process of incorporating contemporary technologies in art, until finding it linked to the concept of interface, as instance and membrane of contact between virtuality and physical environment in instalative and performance artworks. Exploring the diffuse boundaries between art, design and technology, it proposes a reflection on the encreasing tendency to involve the sense of touch and embodiment in interactive works of art, after the irruption of digital technologies made one think of the irreversible dematerialization of art. The miniaturization of digital devices integrated in physical environments and embedded in the materiality of the object, makes possible its mutation as a wearable and tangible interface. This expansion of the function of the object allows an extension of its possibilities as a poetic resource in interaction design and a resignifacation of the notion of the object in art.

El presente artículo indaga en el lugar del objeto durante el proceso de incorporación de tecnologías contemporáneas en el arte, hasta encontrarlo ligado a la idea de interfaz, como instancia y membrana de contacto entre lo virtual y lo físico en instalaciones y prácticas performáticas. Explorando los límites difusos entre arte, diseño y tecnología, propone una reflexión acerca de la creciente tendencia a involucrar el sentido del tacto y la corporización en obras interactivas, luego de que la irrupción de las tecnologías digitales en el arte hiciera pensar en su desmaterialización de modo irreversible. La miniaturización de dispositivos digitales integrados en entornos físicos e incrustados en la materialidad del objeto, hace posible su mutación como interfaz portable y tangible. Esta expansión de la función del objeto, permite una ampliación de sus posibilidades como recurso poético en el diseño de interfaces y un replanteo de la noción de lo objetual en el arte.
