Problems of searching in the remote user's electronic catalog during a pandemic

In the paper the author will present the results of search queries study of remote readers in the first three months of the Covid-19 pandemic. During the study, more than 7,000 search expressions were delivered. User requests were interpreted according to the following criteria:

• Satisfaction of the user's request

• The correctness of the request

• Number of request corrections

If there were corrections of the request, the following were taken into account:

• Updating Databases

• Correction of search fields

• Correcting the expression of the query

The author also discusses the role of the electronic catalog, its difference from traditional ones, and the features of search. The report presents statistics, conclusions on the main methods of search queries constructing, frequent problems of users. The report pays special attention to request corrections.

Various solutions have been proposed regarding technologies of working with an electronic catalog, from its creation to practical application in the library sphere and it is useful to reconsider this within the current digital transformation context.
