Description

The aim of this study is to identify possible correlations between anxiety and depression among university students, based on what the scientific literature indicates. To this end, a review of the literature published between 2011 and 2021, available in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) databases was carried out; Psychology Electronic Journals (PEPSIC); Virtual Health Library (BVS) and Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). The results indicate that the university context presents risk factors for triggering anxiety and depression, interfering with the student's health and academic performance. It is concluded that university students go through several processes when entering higher education, such as a new teaching-learning routine, new bonds, difficulties in adapting to the environment, extensive course hours, thus, the need is perceptible of having an imposition of reception centers for these groups.
