Formación de α-aminoácidos en análogos de hielo interestelar. Aportes de la astroquímica computacional

Resumen

Se conoce que el medio interestelar (ISM) contiene numerosas especies moleculares, varias de ellas de relevancia prebiótica. En este artículo, se revisan los aportes de la astroquímica computacional respecto de las posibles rutas de síntesis de aminoácidos y/o sus precursores en el ISM. En particular, se destaca el rol del agua como catalizador de estos procesos. Adicionalmente, se incluye un análisis teórico del paso de deshidratación de α-aminoetanol en la ruta de Strecker que genera α-alanina. Se encontró que la reacción presenta una barrera de energía elevada, incluso en presencia de moléculas de agua.

1. Se plantean posibles rutas de síntesis de aminoácidos y/o sus precursores en el medio interestelar. 2. La astroquímica computacional permite evaluar la reactividad de especies químicas en el espacio. 3. Las moléculas de agua presentes en los mantos de hielo interestelar exhiben un efecto catalítico. 4. La deshidratación de α-aminoetanol presenta una barrera de reacción alta aún en presencia de agua.
