Description
Echelus myrus (Linnaeus, 1758)
Muraena myrus Linnaeus, 1758: 245. Type locality: Mediterranean Sea. Echelus myrus, Gilat & Gelman, 1984: 259, 260, 263.
Comment. According to Froese & Pauly (2014) E. myrus is found in the eastern Atlantic and Mediterranean, at a depth range of 3– 12 m. Off Israel it was found a depth of 120 m (TAU P 14149). Gilat & Gelman (1984) reported the species from 1080–1490 m. Since no voucher specimens exist, we have no way of confirming their identification.
