Description

HDF5 datasets and python scripts to generate figures in "Butterfly distribution of relativistic electrons induced by lower-band whistler chorus"

RBW simulation datasets in HDF5 format:

  • 100pT.h5    The particle data at t=0s and t=60s with the wave amplitude of 100 pT.
  • 300pT.h5    The particle data at t=0s and t=60s with the wave amplitude of 300 pT.
  • 500pT.h5    The particle data at t=0s and t=60s with the wave amplitude of 500 pT.
  • traj100pT.h5    The time histories of energy and equatorial pitch angle of fifty electrons with the wave amplitude of 100pT.
  • traj300pT.h5    The time histories of energy and equatorial pitch angle of fifty electrons with the wave amplitude of 300pT.
  • traj500pT.h5    The time histories of energy and equatorial pitch angle of fifty electrons with the wave amplitude of 500pT.

Python scripts to generate figures in the manuscript.

- Environment: Python 3.6.7 :: Anaconda 4.4.0 (64-bit)

- Required modules: matplotlib, numpy, h5py

  • Figure1.py    Generate figure 1 using 100pT.h5, 300pT.h5, and 500pT.h5
  • Figure2.py    Generate figure 2 using 100pT.h5, 300pT.h5, and 500pT.h5
  • Figure3.py    Generate figure 3 using traj100pT,h5 traj300pT,h5 and traj500pT.h5.
  • Figure4.py    Generate figure 4.
