Description
Education brings rapid changes into socio-economic and cultural aspect of a society. So, education is the most important parameter of upward social mobility. This paper is an attempt to analyse the impact of education among Kaivartta of Majuli Island, Assam. The data have been collected from primary and secondary sources from six Kaivartta inhabited villages. The study demonstrates that educational attainment tends determined occupational choice, income level, social status and life style of an individual. Key words:
