Type locality: Colombia. LT M (NHMW). Lectotype designated by Hardy, 1968: 138.

Distr.: Colombia and Venezuela. Refs.: Aczél, 1950a: 285 (cat.); Foote, 1967: 32 (cat.); Hardy, 1968: 138 (type data); Norrbom et al., 1999b: 172 (cat.); Norrbom et al., 2010: 24 (new comb.).
