Description

Material examined.
Holotype: female, Philippines, Palawan, Mantalingajan, Pinigisan, 600 m, 13.ix.1961, leg. Noona Dan Exp. 61-62, caught in Malaise-trap inside forest, genit. prep. 3489 M. Fibiger. Coll. ZMUC.
Diagnosis.
Wingspan: 15 mm.
Transverse lines: black, suffused with brown; basal, antemedial, postmedial, and subterminal lines well marked, with black spot by costa: terminal line marked by black elongated dots.
Reniform: elongated, black.
Hindwing: brown.
Underside: unicolorous brown.
Abdomen: brown.
Female genitalia.
Ovipositor: quadrangular.
Anterior apophyses: length equal to that of posterior apophyses.
8 th abdominal segment: very narrow, ventrally fused with 7 th segment.
7 th abdominal segment: heavily sclerotised; position of ostium in middle of segment; two large, hollow, triangular flaps anteroventrally.
6 th segment: posterior part of segment heavily sclerotised and fused to 7 th segment; anterior part of 6 th segment less heavily sclerotised – similar to rest of abdomen.
Antrum: relatively long and large, tapered, coiling, heavily sclerotised, 6 X longer that wide.
Ductus bursae: membranous, 3 X as long as corpus bursae.
Corpus bursae: globular.
Differential diagnosis.
The female genitalia of T. montana are unique in the shape of the antrum.
