Glosses on the preceding Commentary of Iṣfahânî, by SAIYID SHARÎF JURJÂNÎ (d. A.H. 816). They are commonly called حاشیة التجرید. Cf.  Ḥ. Kh. ii. 195, and [Miguel] Casiri, [Bibliotheca Arabico-Hispana Escurialensis, 2 vols (Madrid, 1760–1770)], i., no. DCXV. Annotations on these Glosses are to be found in Fleischer, Cat. Lips. 388.

The work extends only over the first two chapters (مقصد), or the philosophical part, of the Tajrîd [ed note: i. e. Tajrīd al-iʿtiqād of Naṣīr al-dīn al-Ṭūsī (d. 1274 CE)], the two parts dealing with general ontology (umūr ʿāmma) and substance and accident (jawhar wa-ʿaraḍ).

It begins with the preface of Ṭûsî, instead of that of Iṣfahânî, as follows:

قوله اما بعد حمد واجب الوجود علی نعمائه خص بالذکر من صفاته العلی ما هو اخص به تع

The first gloss on words of Iṣfahânî is:

قوله لما کان علم الکلام...اعترض بانّ ما ذکره الخ1

Well written, by Ibrâhîm b. ‘Abdallah, for Saiyid Shams al-dîn Muḥammad Âtashî. Date, A.H. 1082 [=1671-72 CE]. Corrections and notes are on the margin.

Cat. 225, viii. 1 (?) [ed note: = Ḥaqīm Ḥamid al-Dīn's Urdu catalogue prepared at the behest of H. B. Frere].

1 Compare Casiri, l.c.
