Description

The article is devoted to the research of the communicative and pragmatic potential of the proverbs with the component  God in particular those ones, which are comprised into “Galitsko-Rusky national proverbs”. De-spite the activity in the research of Stonemason’s writing language, his living language, one of the valid vectors of his activity, which is connected with his invaluable contribution in the Ukrainian linguistics, still stays not enough investigated, in particular gathering, ordering, systematization, edition of the proverbs in the interpretation of which the scientist was the first to use the principle of communicatively-pragmatic description, that gives the opportunity to consider proverbs as communicative and discourse verbal and speech units. This is why the research of the proverbs pragmatic potential especially those with the representant-leximes to denote concepts from the religious sphere remains actual. The main aim of the article is to determine features of genre use of the proverbs with the component God in the light of prism of I. Franko’s commentaries. To reach the goal the following tasks have been realized: the composition of proverbs with the component God has been defined, communicative genres have been established, I. Franko’s role in decoding of the pragmatic potential of proverbs with the component God has been characterized. It has been defined that such proverbs were used in spoken language of the Ukrainians to verbalize feelings and emotions in different communicative genres (oath, greeting, farewell, gratitude, curse, warning). All this proves the value of religion, faith in God in formation of the Ukrainian proverbs picture of the world.
