Cross-Register Authorship Attribution using Vernacular and Classical Chinese Texts

We propose to measure the difficulty of cross-register authorship attribution using vernacular and classical Chinese. We found inferring authorship of vernacular Chinese texts from classical Chinese pieces is challenging using standard authorship attribution models based on function word frequency.
