Material examined. 1♂, 17HSS227, pup. 21.i.2018, em. 31.i.2018 (gen. slide 219/19, O. Bidzilya); 1♂, LepsocAfrica CRG, Staude et al. (2016), SM 393b, Gelechiidae reared on Searsia crenata, Anacardiaceae, Robberg Nature Reserve, South Africa, Western Cape, Plettenberg Bay 34˚06’10’’S, 23˚23’32’’E, 26.v.2014 eclosed (S. Mecenero) (gen. slide 122/19, O. Bidzilya) (HSS); 1♂, Beacon Bay, East London, Eastern Cape, from larva ex Allophylus, em. 7.x.1982 (N.L. Duke) (TMSA).

Biology. The larvae were observed feeding on Searsia crenata (Anacardiaceae) in January and May. Adults emerged 31.i and 26.v. One male (Fig. 15) was bred from Allophylus sp. (Sapindaceae) in early October (Staude et al. 2020: 297 as unidentified species 17HSS227).

Distribution. South Africa (Meyrick 1916; Janse 1949: 42).
