Description
The datasets are derived from the following article, please cite this article when using the data:
Kummu M, Heino M, Taka M, Varis O, Viviroli D. 2021. Climate change risks to push one-third of global food production outside Safe Climatic Space. EarthArXiv (Preprint). https://doi.org/10.31223/X53K7V
There are four datasets:
- HoldridgeLifeZones_38classes.zip: Holdridge Life Zones (original 38 classes) for baseline (1970-2000) and future (2021-2040, 2041-2060, 2061-2080, and 2081-2100) conditions under two climate change scenarios (SSP1-2.6; SSP5-8.5). classification_table_Holdridge.csv includes the HLZ class names that correspond to the class numbers provided in the geoTIFFs
- HoldridgeLifeZones_13classes.zip: Holdridge Life Zones (Reclassified to 13 classes; see Figure 1 in the article) for baseline (1970-2000) and future (2021-2040, 2041-2060, 2061-2080, and 2081-2100) conditions under two climate change scenarios (SSP1-2.6; SSP5-8.5). classification_table_Holdridge.csv includes the HLZ class names that correspond to the class numbers in the geoTIFFs
- holdridge_change.zip: magnitude of change in Holdridge Life Zones between baseline (1970-2000) and future (2081-2100) conditions for two climate change scenarios (SSP1-2.6; SSP5-8.5).
- SCS_maps.zip: Safe Climatic Space maps; see Figure 6 and Figure S7 in the article for further information.
