ISCCP-FH Cloud radiative kernel for TOA and surface from the ISCCP-FH Flux Production code based on ISCCP-H data
Description
The ISCCP-FH cloud radiative kernel (CRK) for TOA and surface (SFC) is calculated using the ISCCP-FH radiatve profile flux production code, based on the (2007) ISCCP-H datasets. The datasets is in monthly average on the global map of 2.5 longitude X 2.0 latitude resolution. The CRKs are presented as function of longitude, latitude, cloud optical depth (tau), cloud top pressure (CTP) for 12 months, where both tau and CTP are divided into seven bins, forming a 7 x 7 2D joint function/histogram for CRKs at each of all grid cells. The CRKs are useful in directly-deriving cloud feedback based on cloud amount change from GCM model’s ISCCP-simulation, which is also in of 7 X 7 histogram of Tau and CTP on global map.
