Description

The entry contains at the data and code used for the manuscript "The fractal scaling relationship for river inlets to lakes." The code runs in R and requires the packages 'AER' 'car' and 'boot'. The data in this archive is also on drop box and the code calls it from there. If you want to call the code from the Zenodo download you will have to change the load command.

There are four data files.

LakeShapes.csv contains the data on lake shape factor based on geological origin. The analysis of this data is reported in the supplemental materials.

predictedobserved.csv contains the observed number of inlets and the number calculated directly from the scaling relationship with no free relationships. This is used to calculate the correlation between predicted and observed inlets.

WRT-data.csv contains data used to evaluate the relationship between water residence time and lake area. The analysis is reported in the supplemental material.

scaling_data.csv is the primary dataset in the study. It contains the area, perimeter and inlet data used to fit the scaling relationships.
