Description

This repository contains data and example code for the publication Einhäuser, W., Sandrock, A., & Schütz, A. (2021). Perceptual Difficulty Persistently Increases Dominance in Binocular Rivalry - Even Without a Task. Perception, 50(4), 343-366. https://doi.org/10.1177/0301006621999929

The file allData.mat contains the following variables of dimension 24 x 16 x 16, where the first dimension is the observer, the second the block, and third the trial.

OKNrawGain –each entry in the cell contains the mean OKN gain for each slow phase, dimension of each entry is 1 x trial duration, where each sample corresponds to one millisecond in the trial; fast phases and otherwise missing  data are set to NaN; empty for trials 9 through 16 in blocks 1-4 and 13-16.

diffBlue – difficulty level for the blue stimulus (1 easy, 2 difficult)

diffRed – difficulty level for the red stimulus (1 easy, 2 difficult)

eyeBlue – eye in which the blue stimulus is presented (1 – left, 2-right)

eyeRed – eye in which the red stimulus is presented (1 – left, 2-right)

idxButton – time point in which button was pressed (only for blocks 5 through 12, NaN otherwise)

isCorrect – 1 if response was correct, 0 if response was incorrect, NaN for no-task trials

The files figure2.m through figure6and7.m illustrate the use of this datafile by generating the respective figures of the publication.
