KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF MALNUTRITION

Description

Malnutrition is a condition that results from eating a diet which does not supply a healthy amount of one or more nutrients. This includes diets that have too little nutrients or so many that the diet causes health problems. The nutrients involved can include calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins or minerals. A lack of nutrients is called undernutrition or undernourishment while a surplus of nutrients cases overnutrition. This cross-sectional study was conducted among medical students at different medical colleges. All the students were given a predefined questionnaire. All the data was entered and analyzed with SPSS Ver. 23.0. There were 120 medical students included in this study.  The mean age of the students was 21.23±1.34 years. There were 60 (50%) males and 60 (50%) females in this study. Almost all the students knew about the concept of malnutrition and how to access this condition. Out of 120, 38 students knew about the management of this condition.
