The experimental dataset for 'Gravity fingering control on evaporation and deep drainage in a 3D porous medium

Experimentally study on the impact of gravity fingering on deep drainage coupled with surface evaporation in a 3D porous medium. A cylindrical vessel was packed with dry glass beads to mimic soil and we varied the volume of rainfall events and the interval between rainfall events to replicate climate conditions. We record the mass of water in the system throughout the experiments and determine the partition between evaporation and deep drainage before and after the onset of fingering. The data set includes observations of the onset time of gravity fingers, the size of the fingers, the volume of water injected over time and the accumulation rate within the system.
