Lectotype (Majorov & Sokoloff in Cafferty & Jarvis in Taxon 51: 752. 2003 [2002]): Gerber ?, Herb. Linn. No. 563.17, right specimen (LINN).
Current name: Chamaedaphne calyculata (L.) Moench var. calyculata (Ericaceae).
