Amaranthus caudatus Linnaeus, Species Plantarum 2: 990. 1753.

Lectotype (Townsend in Nasir & Ali, Fl. W. Pakistan 71: 10. 1974): Herb. Linn. No. 1117.26 (LINN).
Generitype of Amaranthus Linnaeus (vide Green, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 188. 1929).
Current name: Amaranthus caudatus L. (Amaranthaceae).
