Description

Proterops basalis Walker, 1874

(Figure 47)

Taxonomic history. Morley (1913b) transferred P. basalis to Cardiochiles Nees von Esenbeck, 1819; van Achterberg and Desmier de Chenon (2009) subsequently to Snellenius Westwood, 1882 and synonymised S. theretrae (Watanabe, 1937) with it. However, Long and van Achterberg (2013) removed S. theretrae from synonymy.
