Mesocoms investigation of seaweed fragment degradation and skinking rates

This dataset provides the results of a 35 day investigation of macroalgal fragment degradation and sinking rates, that took place in late summer and autumn of 2017, in Plymouth Marine Laboratory, UK. Specimens were collected by hand, from the shore at Rame Head (50°18' 41.9″ N 4°13' 15.9″ W). Sinking rates were estimated in a stationary seawater column in the laboratory, and are provided against fragment weight for 3 species of macroalgae, at the beginning and end of incubations. Experimental conditions are described.
