ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT SIMULATION FLANEL BOARD AS A MEDIA FOR IMPROVING SCIENTIFIC PERFORMANCE AND UNDERSTANDING STUDENT CONCEPTS

  • 1. SMPN 3 Banjarangkan

Description

This research aims at giving students easier understanding about the manufacture of electric circuit in the learning dynamic electricity in the first semester of class IX. When students saw only the picture in LKS and directly implement the practice, it was always a lot of questions and the doubts in conducting experiments. By making flannel board and held a media simulation of electrical circuits in front of the class, it was hoped that these efforts could help improve the scientific performance and understanding of the dynamic electricity concepts. The subject of this research was students class IX C SMPN 3 Banjarangkan school year 2008/2009, with a total of 31 students. This research was conducted with the model-Targart Kemmis namely the two-cycle stages, where each cycle with four stages, namely the planning, implementation measures, observation/evaluation, and the last was a reflection. Scientific performance of the students were observed in groups conducted by a collaboration of science teachers, with about six aspects of assessment, namely enthusiasm in learning, skills of students in the experiment/demonstration, students with student interaction, student interaction with teachers, group cooperation, and student participation in concluding results of the discussion. Understanding the concepts students were assessed with written tests, namely in the form of field tests. Results of analysis data shows that the performance of students in the first cycle was 24% much less active, and 10% Very Active, then in the second cycle 0% was less active, and 32% Very Active. While student learning outcomes indicated absorption 75.87% and 67.74% with a classical completeness (not finished) in the first cycle, the absorption of 86.00% to 96.77% classical completeness (complete) on the second cycle.
