Field line resonances observed by EMMA

  • 1. University of L'Aquila, L'Aquila, Italy

Description

This data set contains the fundamental Field Line Resonance (FLR) frequencies estimated by spectral analysis of magnetic signals detected by four station pairs (SUW-BEL, TAR-BRZ, OUJ-HAN, MUO-PEL) of the European quasi-Meridional Magnetometer Array (EMMA), during the periods:

2012/09/22-2012/12/01
2013/03/13-2013/03/27
2013/05/25-2013/06/11
2014/02/14-2014/03/09
2015/03/13-2015/03/31
2015/06/18-2015/06/27
2017/05/26-2017/06/02

The original geomagnetic field data are available from https://zenodo.org/record/3387216, and information on the method used to derive the FLR frequencies are described by Del Corpo et al., (2019).

The assumptions made to derive the FLR frequencies could be not valid during nighttime, so the estimated frequencies could be unreliable. They are included in this data set to stimulate further investigation and validation. To facilitate the individuation of trusted frequencies, information about the sunrise and sunset time of the midpoint between the station pair and of the conjugate point is provided. The data set includes also the cross-phase spectra from which the FLR frequencies are derived.
