Pitch-angle diffusion experiments to investigate temporal variability of diffusion coefficients

ASCII files documenting the results from a series of numerical experiments using one-dimensional Fokker-Planck equation to study pitch-angle diffusion in Earth's radiation belt for temporally-varying pitch-angle diffusion coefficients. Results from these files were used to obtain Figures 3 and 4 in "The implications of temporal variability in wave-particle interactions in Earth's Radiation Belts", Watt et al., [GRL, 2020]

There are two ensemble experiments with temporal variability scale equal to 2 minutes, and 6 hours. The 2 minute ensemble files have naming convention:

XX_2minvariation_L3.1d  where XX indicates the run number in the ensemble. There are 60 experiments in the ensemble.

The 6 hour ensemble files have naming convention:

runXX_6hvariation_L3.1d where 1<XX<20 indicates the run number in the ensemble and

XX_6hvariation_L3.1d  where 21<XX<100 indicates the run number. There are 100 experiments in the ensemble, as this ensemble was used for convergence testing (see Supplemental Material).

There are also two numerical experiments with averaged diffusion coefficients:

meanDaarun_L3.1d where the diffusion coefficient is an average of the distribution of observation-specific diffusion coefficients

meanfpefceBwaverun_L3.1d where the diffusion coefficient is constructed from the averaged wave intensity and the averaged plasma frequency to gyrofrequency ratio 

Header in each file explains the data contained therein. In essence, there are 92 columns of data: 1st column is time in days. columns 2-92 correspond to the value of flux (cm^-2s^-1sr^-1KeV^-1) for pitch-angles 0:90 degrees in steps of 1 degree.
