EFSA Legal Limit Data Base for compliance check of chemical monitoring data

Description

The check on legal limit compliance is done based on a database developed by EFSA which includes the limits of concern stated in the legislation for pesticide residues and veterinary medical product residues monitoring.

Chemical monitoring data are reported to EFSA using the FoodEx2 coding system. An algorithm developed by EFSA is needed for the FoodEx2 conversion to the specific food classification system used in legislation in order to perform compliance check against the legal limit database, that will be soon part of this publication.

This data providers package provides the file used by EFSA for mapping the FoodEx2 codes reported in the remit of Chemical Monitoring Data Collection into the food classification used in the Legal Limit database and in the Business Rules validation.

The package includes:

  • Technical document on the mapping of EU MRL food classification from EFSA FoodEx2.
  • The configuration file of the algorithm used in the remit of pesticide residues in excel format.
  • The configuration file of the algorithm used in the remit of veterinary medical product residues in excel format.
  • An ad-hoc version of the algorithm written in SAS to be used by data providers on their local server.

The new guidance document of Chemical Monitoring Data Collection is published on the EFSA journal and referred in the Related Identifiers section among the supplemented materials
