Description
The following raw data are the basis of the paper "Role of the ferroelastic strain in the optical absorption of BiVO4" published in APL Materials in 2020 at http://doi.org/10.1063/5.0011507h.
The UV/VIS measurements were carried out in air with a Jasco MSV-370 microspectrophotometer. The spectrophotometer operates a deuterium lamp for the UV and a halogen lamp for the visible and near infrared light range and collects the light using non-dispersive Schwarzschild objectives. Two samples have been investigated. The samples were cut and polished from a larger single crystal pulled by the Czochralski-method. The first sample has a (110) surface orientation and a thickness of 360 μm; the second sample has a (001)-oriented surface and a thickness of 100μm. The samples were placed in a Linkam THMS600 heating stage. Using an aperture, the measurement areas were set to 400μm x 400μm and 300μm x 300μm for the (110)-oriented sample and the (001)-oriented sample, respectively. For all reflectance measurements, an aluminium mirror was used for calibration.
