Description

Climate change, leading to predict a significant increase in temperature, makes cities a privileged place in which to test mitigation and adaptation practices together with operations of regeneration based on the concept of urban resilience. However, urban ecosystems, hybrid of natural and man-made components, are still unable to implement a self-healing cycle that allows them to reorganize their social, economic and environmental components in the presence of external perturbations. In order to face these issues, the assessment phase is necessary, as it allows to support the delicate decision-making process related to climate change and the consequences it brings. For this reason, the present article aims to investigate the possible evaluation approaches in order to analyze these types of ecosystems in view of climate change, with the aim of outlining the issues and the components to take into account to give life to a possible integrated approach.
