Description
Lithium ion capacitors (LICs) store energy electrochemically using double layer mechanism at a positive electrode and lithium intercalation mechanism at a negative electrode. LICs offer optimum energy density, power density and longer cycle life for high power applications. The 1D electrochemical model for a LIC was built in COMSOL and used to generate the data reported in the paper: Degradation Diagnostics for Li4Ti5O12-based Lithium Ion Capacitors: Insights from a Physics-based Model, Journal of the Electrochemical Society, 2020 ( https://doi.org/10.1149/1945-7111/ab7655 ). More details about the model can be found in the paper.
