Crisis condition and urban chance for the cities on the example of the city of lviv

Subject of research – consider the phenomenon of crisis of urban systems for new geopolitical
conditions, reveals the chances of cities to get out of such states, prospects for their development.
The purrous of the article is to analyze theoretical positions of problem situations and crisis of
cities; methodology of crisis analysis in cities is grounded.
Results of work. Through a five–dimensional model of urban space, the phenomenon of urban
crises has been reinterpreted as a complex phenomenon that has embraced all spheres of urban life.
Confirmed: Crises in cities arise from the mismatch of interactions of dimensions (measurements of
human – conditions – functions – geometry – time). Based on sound methods, crisis situations and
the situation and urban chances of Lviv were analyzed and evaluated.
Conclusions. Urban prospects of city development, ways of crisis elimination by urban development
means, including and through updating of town planning documentation and strategic development
planning. The Changes in the structure of the city as its important characteristic (reduction of chaoticity
and increase of spatial structure) are substantiated.
