Description

Coerentemente con la letteratura corrente, sulla base dei diversi sintomi che misurano, i vari test neuropsicologici impiegati per la diagnosi di neglect possono essere raggruppati in:

  • test che non impegnano il paziente in un'esplorazione ampia dello spazio ma che mettono in evidenza la presenza di bias spaziale a sfavore del lato sinistro in situazioni in cui lo stimolo sottende pochi gradi di angolo visivo;
  • test che richiedono un’esplorazione ampia dello spazio e che mettono in evidenza il grave deficit esplorativo che interessa il lato sinistro dello spazio;
  • test che valutano il neglect allocentrico.

Di tutta la batteria neuropsicologica utilizzata per la diagnosi clinica del neglect, i test veramente significativi per l’esplorazione del neglect in pazienti con ictus destro sono quelli in grado di mettere in luce le due componenti che rappresentano il deficit, e cioè il "bias spaziale" e il deficit di esplorazione spaziale.
