Processed simulation data for "Is Nightside Outflow Required to Induce Magntospheric Sawtooth Oscillations?"

"OpenFlux_sawtooth.mat" is the time series of the integrated open magnetic flux in the cusp O+ outflow simulation.

"tiltangle.mat" is the time evolution of magnetic inclination angle extracted at geostationary orbit for comparing the spatial extension of sawtooth substorms with observations from Cai et al. [2006].

 

Notes

The full simulation data (in the form of hdf4) are preserved at the NCAR Cheyenne supercomputer system (DOI:10.5065/D6RX99HX) and is available through the leading author of the paper.
