Description
Chloride penetration into concrete is very harmful to the concrete structures. When concrete structures are very much exposed to marine environment or in touch with the deicing salts, durability of the concrete structures is hampered badly because of chloride ion penetration and reinforcement is susceptible to chloride induced corrosion. If we want to find out the factors which are responsible for the ingress of chloride ion into concrete then we have to look upon the degree of humidity, environmental nature and condition and last but not the least the characteristics, composition and condition of the concrete itself. From various studies it is found that concrete quality parameters such as cement content and water–cement ratio are the main influence factor for the ingress of chloride ion into concrete structures. This paper is mainly based on the other two very important factors like saturation level and degree of hydration using Molecular dynamics analysis to see their effect on chloride ion ingress into concrete. The Molecular Dynamics analysis is implemented taking into account with various degree of hydration and level of saturation and its influence on chloride diffusivity. Here, in this following paper we analyze the diffusion behavior of chloride ion into the concrete due to various saturation levels and various degree of hydration. It is the main objective of this paper.
