The figure of the teacher and the pedagogical culture in Francoist Spain. Reflections from the literature

Authors/Creators

Description

The study of the historical-educational past and the critical genealogy of how the professional identity of teaching has been constructed can offer us some keys to better understand the present and to rethink the future of the profession. Knowledge contributed by traditional hermeneutics on the figure of the teacher in the educational historiography of Francoism is currently completed with the use of novel sources of historical research, such as literature, by placing a value on complementary views of the same professional role collected in the literary works of the time.
