The white mulberry (Morus alba L.) originating in Asia is for centuries known as a plant with medicinal properties. Both leaves and fruits, seeds and bark are a valuable source of bioactive compounds. From different parts of the mulberry obtained is a variety of biologically active substances which include: flavonoids (astralagine, kaempherol, quercetin, rutin) and alkaloids (1-deoxynojirimycin). Mulberry is also a source of nutrients which have a beneficial effect on the functioning of the human body – protein, lipids, unsaturated fatty acids, and micro- and macro-elements. Identified in mulberry substances play an important role in the prevention and treatment support lifestyle diseases – diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure. In addition, antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral allows you to include a mulberry tree white plant with wide potential.
