In the leadup to the 2013 IEEE International Symposium on Technology and Society (ISTAS): Social Implications of Wearable Computing and Augmediated Reality in Everyday Life which had a theme of 'smartworld' the concept of identity awareness of research data, principally tracking research data and attributing digital object identifiers was a hot topic. Alexander Hayes in this video engages and explores with a range of interested researchers in how to make 'real' this concept, calling on these participants in a live streamed event to respond given the social and ethical implications or 'long tail' effect of these technologies.
