Endothelial cell-collagen particles culture releases novel anti- inflammatory factors that inhibit endothelial cell adhesion molecules gene expression and reduce choroidal neovascularisation in a mouse model
Description
Endothelial injury often causes intimal hyperplasia (IH), a disease characterised by local inflammation and critical narrowing or restenosis of blood vessel. Recent publications showed that endothelial cells (EC) grown on collagen particles were highly effective in inhibiting IH in various animal models and that this effect was, at least in part, the result of EC-based soluble factors that suppressed local vascular inflammation. Based on this hypothesis, we produced the EC on Collagen Particles-Conditioned Media (ECPCM), which was expected to contain soluble anti-inflammatory factors.
