In addition, the wine industry continued in the region of the Roman era to the Islamic Periods through re-use of the contemporary Roman winepress that has spread in some locations in the region. For example, the great wine press at Ya'amun Site that appeared in the Roman period and continued in use during the Byzantine and late Umayyad early Abbasid eras.
