PROMECE - 3D Industrial Inspection - New database description

Description

Instituto Tecnológico de Informática has a non-economic Activities Plan (PROMECE) whose general objective is to strengthen the research lines in which the Institute works, within the scope of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

Within the line, 3D Industrial Inspection, we work on the development of an artificial vision and pattern recognition based system, aimed to assess the quality of the parts produced at the industrial processes by means of automatic object defect detection.

This document describes a new database generated to test the 3D inspection system with real tasks. Specifically, two different data sets have been prepared, the first one composed of dental prostheses and the other with engine parts. For each one of these datasets different sets of defective and correct samples have been captured, labelled and grouped.
