Description
This study investigates cost-effective substrates for yeast-driven biodiesel production, focusing on sweet sorghum 'Super 2' juice. Lipomyces starkeyi InaCC Y-285, Candida orthopsilosis InaCC Y-302, and Candida oleophila InaCC Y-306 were cultured with adjusted carbon concentrations. Glucose 4%+Sorghum Juice medium significantly increased biomass to 8.03, 8.64, and 6.94 g.L-1 and lipid content by 26.60, 33.77, and 48.72% compared to Glucose 12% medium. These strains predominantly produced oleic and stearic acids in this medium, emphasizing Glucose 4%+Sorghum Juice's potential for efficient biodiesel production by oleaginous yeasts.
