Deep-Sea Amphipod Data from the North Atlantic

Authors/Creators

Description

The dataset contains records of Amphipoda occurrences retrieved from the Ocean Biodiversity Information System (OBIS) (https://obis.org/). It comprises both the unprocessed data as initially downloaded and a refined subset tailored for species distribution modeling. The refinement process involved spatial, temporal, and data quality filtering to enhance the reliability of deep-sea benthic amphipod representation in the North Atlantic. Accompanying metadata and licensing information are provided in a separate document.

Bathymetric information was acquired from the General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO) (https://www.gebco.net/data-products/gridded-bathymetry-data), with applicable usage terms included.

Environmental variables used in modeling were sourced from the Bio-ORACLE project (https://bio-oracle.org/downloads-to-email.php) and are distributed under the GNU General Public License.
